Rose Anne Huck Stanard
The serene scenes in my art reflect my love of the peacefulness of nature. The sights and sounds of nature feed my soul and create a sense of wonder in me. I was born into the Barbour and Hammons families in Southeast Missouri in Poplar Bluff. Several generations of my family have called Poplar Bluff home.
My interest in art began at a young age when I was inspired by my mom, Rose Barbour, and her interest and talent in art. I studied at the University of Missouri in Columbia and Kansas University in Lawrence.
For most of my professional career, I have been a graphic designer and illustrator working with studios and agencies in across the U.S.. I am grateful to have won a number of awards for my work.
The rural countryside supplies me with an endless stream of subject matter. I also enjoy painting scenes from my travels across the country and around the world.
The Hudson River School of artists has been a long time inspiration to me as well as the Impressionist movement. I love capturing the light of the early morning on fields and water. I work in a somewhat loose, hopefully expressive style. I think it implies the movement and liveliness of nature in a way more static representations cannot. Many people viewing my work will say, I remember playing in a place like that when I was a child!
In addition to this site, you may view my art at the galleries which represent me: Artfully Framed at 1939 Westwood Blvd. in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and Componere Gallery in St. Louis, Missouri at 6509 Delmar.
