Acrylic painting on stretched canvas. This painting was done en plein aire of a wonderful oak tree in my backyard. It was early spring and the trees were just starting to get those tiny green leaf buds. The light on this day was so dramatic, I thought the tree would make a wonderful subject for a painting. The small building is a chicken house built by Mr. Sims who owned my farm in for over 50 years. He sold it when he turned 83 saying he wanted to slow down and not work so hard. Just beyond the rise on the right is a small deep pond full of colorful perch.
